Dear Friend,
We’d like to introduce you to a place of
hidden treasures. Well-known for its cave system, Florida Caverns State
Park is also home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Due to its unique
geologic development, an unusual number of wildflowers, butterflies, and
birds can be found here. A rich history is added from the CCC and WPA
buildings and fish hatchery.
Whether you come for a weekend or choose to
retire nearby, you will find our park features drawing you back over and
over again. In addition to exploring the only public tour cave in Florida,
there are trails to hike, the Chipola River to paddle, camp and picnic
areas, horse trails, swimming, and educational opportunities in the
Visitor’s Center. Frequent special programs are offered in the park such
as bird, butterfly and wildflower walks, astronomy nights, jazz in the
park, art exhibits, storytelling, a festival, and more.
Doesn’t this make you want to plan on visiting
us in the near future? We look forward to seeing you.
